24 hour ER shifts means I only have to work two days a week, and today’s not one of them :) Have a sweet r ed Chevy Opala to go with the dark bitter coffee I’m sure we’re all sipping right now

TIL that these exist. I’d never seen one before. These are pretty awesome. Someplace between a 70's Nova and a first-gen Camaro.

So how does a 24 hour shift in the ER work?  I assume you don’t work two days back-to-back.  If it’s a busy 24 hours in the ER (which is pretty much all the time these days, I imagine) you probably don’t get a lot of sleep in that 24 hours, do you?

Funny thing is, I didn’t really like the Opala as a kid. I thought it was lame we got an Opel-frankenstein as opposed to a real Chevy, but turns out the Opel Rekord on which it was based was designed by an american team in Detroit to look as much like a Chevrolet as Opel would have it. When they brought it down to Brazil, they gave it a Chevy face to go with the Chevy sheetmetal and it looks much better than the original car!

As for the ER, imagine our healthcare system is already on the verge of collapse on its best  days, then add in the extra pressure from this lousy pandemic. That’s how bad we’re taking up the butt lol. In theory, the system is pretty solid and well thought out, but people can’t follow basic instructions, so we spend all day between silly stuff like headaches that disappear when the patient gets to the hospital, to serious crap like strokes, gunshot wounds, serious accidents and unstable covid patients.

Love it! It’s a like a Nova, but not like a Nova. There’s a bit of Chevelle in there too. Just when you thought you knew something about cars here comes Brazil to teach you something new.

That’s why the Opala is the coolest Chevy you didn’t know about :) Too bad Chevy aborted the plans of putting a small block mill under the hood, making do with a somewhat annemiac 170 hp straight 6.

Not that a V8 wouldn’t fit in there, if you know what I mean...
